Receipts on the road
Travel receipts have a problem the household kind don't: currency. Most expense apps convert your Tokyo ramen at today's rate — so what your trip "cost" quietly changes every day after you come home. (Why that is dishonest arithmetic: the ramen post.)
How Pip handles it
- The receipt's own date sets the rate. Conversion uses the European Central Bank reference rate for that day — published, verifiable, fixed. Your October total in November is still your October total.
- The original amount is never discarded. ¥1,200 stays ¥1,200 forever, with the conversion beside it. No rate for that date? Pip shows the original and says so, rather than inventing one.
- Scan at the table, review in ten seconds. The photo stays on your phone; wallets keep each trip's receipts together with their own budget.
