Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the Pip iOS app, provided by Baloot MY Digital Agency (baloot.my), a native iOS app developer in Malaysia ("we", "us"). By using Pip you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the app.

1. Your account

Pip uses Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for your Apple Account and the devices signed into it. You must be at least 13 years old.

2. Your licence to use Pip

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Pip on Apple devices you own or control, as the App Store rules allow. That licence is all you need — and all you get: the app itself, its code, its design, and Pip the character remain ours. Please do not copy, resell, or redistribute them.

3. Your content is yours

Your receipts, images, wallets and budgets remain yours. We claim no ownership and no licence to use them for anything beyond running the app for you. We do not use your receipts to train AI models.

4. What AI extraction is, and is not

Pip's extraction is an assistant, not an accountant. Always check a scan before relying on it.

Pip uses automated text recognition and an AI model to read receipts. These make mistakes: figures can be misread, items missed, dates confused. Pip checks the arithmetic itself, flags what it is unsure about, and shows you every scan for review before saving — but the final judgement is yours.

Pip is not tax, accounting, or financial advice. Do not rely on it as your sole record for a tax filing, a legal claim, or a warranty dispute. Keep your original receipts where they matter.

5. Subscriptions and payment

  • Pip has a free tier with a monthly limit on AI scans. Manual entry is unlimited and free on every plan.
  • A paid subscription raises that limit, lifts the wallet limit, and adds the PDF and ZIP export formats. Current prices are shown in the App Store before you buy, in your local currency.
  • Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew, there is nothing to cancel, and the paragraphs below about renewal and cancellation do not apply to it. You can restore it on your other devices through the same Apple Account.
  • Payment is taken by Apple, not by us. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Cancel through Apple: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. We cannot cancel or refund on Apple's behalf. Refunds are handled by Apple under its own terms.
  • Deleting your Pip account does not cancel billing. Cancel first.

If we ever change a price, we will not do it quietly: you will be told in advance and asked to agree before it applies to you.

6. Fair use

Please do not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or resell the service, submit content you have no right to, or use Pip to break the law. We may suspend an account doing these things.

7. Availability

The app is provided "as is". We work to keep the service up, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and features may change. The AI provider and exchange rate source are third parties and can be unavailable. When they are, scanning may pause — your existing receipts remain on your device and readable.

8. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on an extraction you did not review. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death, personal injury, or fraud. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

9. Ending it

You can stop using Pip and delete your account at any time, from Settings → Delete account. We may end these terms with you if you seriously or repeatedly breach them.

10. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we will update this page and its date. For a significant change we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use Pip after that means you accept the new terms. If you do not, stop using the app and delete your account.

11. Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Pip. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and the courts of Malaysia have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
