Support
To help us help you faster, tell us your iOS version, your iPhone model, and what you expected to happen. Please do not attach a receipt photo unless we specifically ask — we designed Pip so that your receipts stay with you, and we would rather keep it that way in support too.
Common questions
The app itself
Is there an Android version of Pip?
No — Pip is iPhone only, and there is no Android version in development. It is a native app built on Apple's own frameworks: the receipt is read by Apple's Vision framework on the device, sign-in is Sign in with Apple, and billing is Apple's. None of that ports. There is no web app and no Android beta to join. If you need Android, please buy something else rather than waiting for us — and in particular, do not buy Lifetime expecting it to arrive.
Is there an Apple Watch app?
It is coming, and it is with App Review now. The watch takes the cash that never prints a receipt — turn the Digital Crown for the amount, tap a category, one hand, no keyboard — and it reaches your iPhone even if Pip is closed there. It will not scan: an Apple Watch has no camera. We are not giving a date, because review takes as long as it takes.
Does Pip work offline?
Mostly, yes. Everything you have already saved is on the device, so browsing, searching, editing, budgets and manual entry all work with no signal at all. Scanning works too — the text recognition is on your iPhone — but the AI step that turns that text into items and totals needs the network. Offline, Pip tells you it read the receipt on the device alone, saves what it has, and can re-read the same photo properly later. Currency conversion is the other exception: with no connection Pip keeps the original amount rather than inventing a rate.
Privacy & your data
Do my receipt photos get uploaded anywhere?
No. They stay on your device. Our servers have no ability to receive an image. Only redacted text is sent, and only to interpret it. The privacy policy has the full map.
Do my receipts move to a new iPhone?
Not on their own, not yet. Receipts live on the device that saved them. Syncing through your own private iCloud is built and switched off, and we would rather say so than let you find out by reaching for a receipt that is not there. Export before you switch phones — Settings → Export receipts — and this page will change the day sync is turned on. (Premium itself always comes back: it belongs to your Apple Account, not to the phone.)
How do I delete my account and my data?
In the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your data from our server. Your receipts live in your own storage, so you can delete those directly too. If you would rather we did it, email hello@baloot.my.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Settings → Export receipts, with every item and both the original and converted amounts. CSV is free on every plan; PDF reports and a ZIP with the receipt images are Premium. It is your data; we are not going to hold it hostage to keep you.
Scanning & limits
A scan got something wrong. What now?
Correct it — every scan is shown to you for review before it is saved, and nothing is stored until you accept it. What you correct is remembered as your answer, and a later re-read of the same receipt will not overwrite it.
What counts against my monthly scan limit?
Only a successful AI scan that you actually save. If a scan fails, it costs you nothing. Manual entry is unlimited and free, forever, on every plan. The limits themselves are on the pricing page.
What happens when I reach the free limit?
Pip tells you plainly and shows the date your scans reset. Nothing is taken away: every receipt you have already saved stays readable, searchable and exportable, and manual entry keeps working as normal. Only new AI scans wait for the reset — or for Premium.
Currencies
Why is my old receipt not converted at today's rate?
Because that would be wrong. A meal you bought in Tokyo last March cost what it cost that day. Pip converts using the European Central Bank's official rate for the receipt's own date, and always keeps the original amount and currency. Converting at today's rate would silently rewrite your history.
The ECB publishes no rate for my receipt's date.
Rates are not published on weekends or public holidays, and not every currency is covered. When there is no rate for a date, Pip shows the original amount without a conversion rather than inventing one.
Subscription & purchases
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so only Apple can cancel them: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Premium stays active until the period you have paid for ends. Deleting your Pip account does not cancel billing — please cancel there first.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are Apple's to give, not ours — we never see your card and cannot issue one. Request it at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account you bought with. If something in Pip caused the problem, tell us as well and we will fix it.
I reinstalled the app, or got a new iPhone. How do I get Premium back?
Open the Premium screen and tap Restore purchases. Purchases belong to your Apple Account, so anything you have bought — including Lifetime — comes back on any device signed in to it, at no further cost.
Is Lifetime really a one-time purchase?
Yes. It does not renew and there is nothing to cancel. It is a non-consumable purchase, so it restores on your other devices through the same Apple Account.
Reporting a security issue
If you have found a vulnerability, please email hello@baloot.my with the details and give us a reasonable chance to fix it before disclosing it. We will not take legal action against good-faith research.
Who we are
Pip is designed and built by Baloot MY Digital Agency, a native iOS app studio in Malaysia. We build small and deliberate: no ads, no data resale, no growth team mining your receipts — the person who answers your email is the person who wrote the code running on your phone.
We made Pip because a receipt is a tiny record of your life, and we think it should stay in your hands — readable, searchable, and nobody's business model. If that sounds like software you want more of, see what else we build at baloot.my — or just say hello: hello@baloot.my. There's more about us on the about page.
