Receipts for warranty claims
A warranty claim needs three things: what you bought, where, and when. Thermal receipts are engineered to lose exactly those three things — most fade within a year or two, and the one for your washing machine is needed in year two, not week two. (The chemistry of why is on our blog.)
How Pip handles it
- Scan it the week you buy it. Thirty seconds: the receipt becomes a dated, item-level record, and the original photo stays with it — on your devices, not our servers.
- Find it years later by the item. Search "washing machine" — not "which folder did I put that in". Pip keeps every line item, so the thing itself is the search key.
- The record never drifts. Your corrections are never overwritten, amounts never re-converted, dates never touched. What you saved is what you show the service counter.
Honest limit: for high-value claims, keep the paper original too — flat, dark, away from plastic. Pip is the copy that stays readable; some retailers still want the artifact.
